If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.

Attendance and Participation Policy

Students are expected to attend class. If you miss class you are responsible for obtaining the class notes and the assignments. Additionally, students will be asked to participate in class discussions. Problems will be worked in class, so please bring your textbook each day.

Late Assignments

A late fee of 10% of the grade is imposed for each day (or part of a day) that an assignment is late. No grade is awarded if the work is submitted after the solutions have been posted on the web (duh!).

Quizzes, Homwework and Exams

A quiz will be given at class just about every other week and will cover the material since the last quiz, including both work done in class and homework. Two exams will be given. The exams will test the student's overall understanding of the concepts and processes presented in the book, in homework and in lectures. The lowest score on the quizzes will not count towards the course grade.

Homework will be posted most weeks and solutions will be available in the library the following week. The homework will form part of the material needed for quizzes and exams.

Academic Honesty

Students will be held to the highest standards of academic honesty. Students are not allowed to copy the work of another student nor are they to allow their work to be copied. Violations will be dealt with as outlined in the Engineering College's guidelines on academic dishonesty. It is however, acceptable for students to help each other on their homework as long as students do not copy each other's work. Be especially careful of plagiarism.

Students with Disabilities

Professor O'Grady would like to hear from anyone who has a disability that may require some modification of the seating, testing, or other class requirements so that appropriate arrangements can be made. Please contact Prof. O'Grady to discuss any issues you might have.
