Introduction

Yep, this is it. I was born on August 21, 1974, the same year scientists sent a radio message into deep space for the benefit of any extraterrestrial intelligence that might be listening in. They got me instead. :) If you'd hoped for someone a little more exotic, join the search by clicking here.

I graduated from Goshen College, Indiana in May of '96 with a B.A. in psychology. Other schools I have attended are B.I.T., NMSU, UI, and IMS ('92). B.I.T. is notable in that it is the nation's first institution to become fully integrated.

Incidentally, my middle name is a reference to my maternal grandfather, August "Iron Mike" Michalske. He did a fine job as guard for the Green Bay Packers in the late '20s and early '30s, good enough to help them to several national championships and himself to the NFL Hall of Fame. That August is my birthmonth is a handy coincidence.

I have been told that I look like Rowan Atkinson, a.k.a. "Mr. Bean," but we have no close relation.
