56:246 The Design of Virtual Environments
Homework #6: Analysis of 3D Displays
Write a 2-page (approximately), double-spaced essay in which you
argue for a particular calculation you make with respect to the
information transmitted from the device to the person. For
example, if you have 4 pixels with 256 possible colors each, then you
have 4 pixels x 256 = 1024 possible states, which could be encoded in
10 bits of information (log2(1024)). However, the problem gets
more complicated when you have two screens that are not
independent. Show me how you would handle this. You are
welcome to find other
material to support your viewpoint from other sources, but avoid making
arbitrary
claims and unsubstantiated remarks without providing evidence to back
up
your point.
Your grade will be based on:
The clarity of the point you wish to argue: 25%
Support for the point garnered from the readings and from other
material: 25%
The clarity of exposition: 25%
Grammar and spelling: 25%
