Problem #22
Friction Head Loss in a Closed Conduit
A 500-m long galvanized iron pipe has a 1.2 m diameter. Compare estimates
of the friction head loss (in m) for a flow of 1.5 m3/s using (a)
Manning's equation, (b) Hazen-Williams equation, and the (c) Darcy-Weisbach
equation. Use Table 12.1.1 WRE (Mays) to obtain the roughness parameters.
